WOW Elegance Girth Collection

The Elegance girth consists of a small, generously padded sternum plate, which can be paired with 3 different strap options: the WOW Soft Straight Girth, WOW Split Straight Girth or two WOW H Girth Straps. 

The Elegance Sternum Plate is the same width as the H Girth Sternum Plate, but the back end is shaped into a point to accommodate the fixing strap. The Sternum Plate is removable and designed so that it will not impede the forelimbs on narrow chested horses. The Elegance Sternum Plate lifts the girth away from the sternum of the horse so creating a gap either side of the Sternum Plate over the Rectus Abdominus muscles. This allows complete freedom of the Ascending Pectoral muscles, which affect fore limb motion and stride length (though not to the same extent as the WOW FreeSpace Girth).

Please Note: Elegance Sternum Plates are not sold with loop or D rings, so if you require them for attachment of auxilliary training aids, be sure to select the option to have them added to your desired Girth Strap(s).

• The Elegance sternum plate can be used with H Girth Straps of unequal length.
  This is particularly helpful if you prefer extra shoulder clearance. With very thin but broad straps the WOW H Girth is designed for horses with a very forward girth groove where the girth creeps into the elbow. The soft straps are designed to act like a second skin; rolling with the skin rather than acting against it. If choosing H Girth Straps, you may choose to have both straps equal length, or two different lengths. It is more common to have a longer front strap in order to provide clearance of the buckle from the elbow, however, some people require a longer back strap in order to better fit very round horses.
• The Elegance Sternum Plate can be used with a Soft Straight Girth. The Soft Straight Girth suits saddles with billet straps that sit parallel and equal to one another when they reach the girth. Like the straps of the H Girth, the Soft Straight Girth is a very thin but broad strap, suited for horses whose girth tends to creep forward into the elbow. The thin but soft leather strap is designed to act like a second skin; rolling with the skin rather than acting against it.
• The Elegance Sternum Plate may also be used with a Split Straight Girth. These are suitable for saddles with billets that ascend at an angle, e.g.; in a V. It means the girth straps can fasten in opposing directions.
